Award for ISMU alumnus - The Telegraph

Dhanbad, June 26: The Indian School of Mines University (ISMU) has done the coal capital proud once again.

The Mining Engineers’ Association of India (MEAI) chose Dipesh Dipu (28), a student of the 2000 batch, for the young mining engineer of the year 2007 award — the Abheraj Baldota gold medal.

The award would be handed over to Dipesh at the annual general meeting of MEAI on June 29, 2008, in Raipur.

Hailing from Tilaya in Hazaribagh, Dipesh always wanted to become an engineer. After completing his Plus Two form Sainik School, Tilaya, Dipesh became a part of ISMU. He also took the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme from ICFAI in 2002 and an executive program in business management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, in 2007.
“I wanted to innovate and explore policy making and business. I thus chose a specialisation programme in finance,” Dipesh said.

With almost eight years of experience in consulting, at present he is posted as the principal consultant with Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Hyderabad. He has been attached with the mining industry as a consultant and has contributed in making policies and reforms in the industry.
He has also advised clients on strategic partnerships and alliances, invesment strategies, transactions, and performance improvement.
